Our latest success in Karate Competitions was on Sunday 8th July 2012 in Clacton, we participated in the Southern England Karate Championships organised by Toyakwai Karate.

Everyone who attended performed brilliantly with the following people winning trophies:

AMA National Karate Competition – May 2012

Southend Goju-Kai participated in the AMA National Karate Competition held in Bradford on 13th May 2012; the following students took part in the Kata events:

Each person entered their relevant sections and performed amazing Kata. We were successful in winning 8 medals for the following categories:

Boys National Goju Kata Champions:

  • Billy Uden – Gold
  • Tyler Farjani - Silver
  • Jack Reeves – Bronze

Boys National Open Kata Champions:

  • Billy Uden – Silver
  • Tyler Farjani - Bronze

Male National Goju Kata Champions:

  • Peter Wright - Gold

National Vertrans Kata Champions:

  • Peter Wright - Silver

National Boys Kumite Champions:

  • Tyler Farjani - Bronze

AMA International Karate Competition – Feb 2012

Southend Goju-Kai participated in the AMA International Karate Competition held in Sheffield on 25th February 2012; the following students took part in the Kata events:

Boys International Goju Kata Champions:

I would like to thank all those who help support this prestigious event and entered, especially our guys in the Team Kata (David, Andy and Chris) who where up against high ranking Dan Grades and performed with great timing and skill – well done!

IKGA Kata Competition - May 2012

Please see the attached files for details of the Junior Kata competition on Sunday 27th May – Chase Fitness Centre, Prittlewell Chase. If you want to participate in this event please register your details with one of the Instructors. The fee is £10.00 per entry and must be paid for by 05 May 2012.
